Monday, April 8, 7-8:30 PM ET

(Visual description: graphic flyer: A woman with shoulder length curly brown hair sits on a stool against a computer generated pink and white background. Her right ankle rests on her left knee as she smiles warmly, her chin in her hand. The words "Three Keys to Crowdfund like a Queen" are in the center of the image. There is an orange crown drawn above the woman's head. She wears a black blazer, a black and white striped T-shirt, jeans and black ankle boots with a large ring and bracelet on her right arm.)

Join LPTW for our next LPTW Professional Seminar where the Crowdfunding Queen herself and LPTW Member, Melissa Center, will lead you through Three Keys to Crowdfund like a Queen.

Through this hands-on seminar, you will learn how to set yourself up for success, walk away with practical tips, and be inspired to create (and fund) your own art. There will be a Q&A at the end of the program moderated by LPTW Board Member Illana Stein.

This seminar is FREE for Members and $10 for Non-Members. This program is produced by Illana Stein and the LPTW Professional Seminar Committee.

The last Professional Seminar Working with Disability: Part Two on February 12 was moderated by Gwynn MacDonald with Guest Panelists Quinn O’Connor and Dr. Catherine (Katya) Vrtis. If you were unable to attend the program, for a limited time, you can watch the recording here

The League’s Professional Seminar Program is where experienced guest panelists lead seminars for members and guests focusing on a wide range of topics relevant to having a successful theater career through a moderated Q&A.

The LPTW Professional Development and Heritage Programs are made possible, in part, with public funds from the NYS Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the NYS Legislature and from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in Partnership with the City Council. It is further supported by The Waldman Foundation and our Brava Sponsor, SHOWTIME.

The League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW) recently gathered with theatre professionals and supporters at The Lambs in New York City to celebrate the newly established LPTW Billie Allen Award. While no awardee was named this year, the award will serve as an important recognition of theatre artists who embody Allen’s pioneering spirit and dedication to the arts in the years to come. The event celebrated Allen’s lasting impact on the performing arts and her unwavering dedication to creating space for underrepresented voices in theater. The heartfelt tribute to the late, great Billie Allen included a lineup of speakers and special guests who shared personal reflections on Allen’s trailblazing career, highlighting Allen’s contributions to the stage and her profound influence on the artistic community. Attendees had the opportunity to connect, reminisce, and reaffirm their commitment to the values she championed throughout her career. Allen's legacy continues to inspire generations, from her groundbreaking work as an actress and director to her advocacy for equity in the arts. LPTW remains dedicated to honoring the contributions of women in theatre, and this tribute to Billie Allen was a testament to the power of storytelling, representation, and perseverance. About Billie Allen Billie Allen was a trailblazing actress, director, and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the performing arts. She broke barriers as one of the first African American women to appear on Broadway and television, paving the way for future generations of artists. In addition to her work on stage and screen, Allen was a passionate director and mentor, dedicating her career to uplifting underrepresented voices in theater. Her advocacy and leadership continue to inspire and shape the industry today.
