Professional Seminar: Working With Disabilities
Professional Seminar: Working with Disability
Join us Feb 12th, 7pm EST on Zoom, for our second Professional Seminar in the series “Working with Disability” devoted to bringing disability more intentionally into our conversation and practice as theater makers. This three part introduction will be a broad but rigorous exploration of topics that include expanding your creative collaborative network and identifying / or not as disabled in the theatrical workplace. Disability is the largest minority group in the nation and the least represented in entertainment. It is the most diverse minority group -- cutting across lines of age, ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status -- and the only one which anyone at any point in their life might become a member. It's part of our lives and if that's not reflected in our work and our working lives we are not reaching a vibrant audience or our potential as professional artists. This seminar is for theatre artists who consider themselves non-disabled, disabled and everything in between. Register and read more about the panelists below.
Conversation Facilitators – Gwynn MacDonald, Dir and Gabriella Balsam, Playwright
Stage Manager -- Jessica Dell Beni (she/her)
